Location: airside, Terminal 1, Schengen area

The VIP Pau Casals Lounge at Barcelona El Prat Airport is an example of how a lounge can become a true refuge, elevating the airport experience to a new level.
As soon as you cross the threshold, you notice the difference: large, bright, and perfectly organized spaces can accommodate a large number of travelers for extended periods. The large windows overlooking the apron allow you to see the entire area even before takeoff, providing a sense of openness and spaciousness rarely found in an airport environment.
The furniture is thoughtfully arranged : comfortable armchairs for relaxing, more private tables for those who want to work, and dedicated areas for rest and networking. The feeling is not that of being in an anonymous space, but rather in an environment designed to ensure comfort and functionality for a diverse and international clientele.
The food and beverage section deserves special mention: a wide and varied selection, with fresh products, hot and cold dishes, sweet and savory, all of a quality far above the average for European lounges. The food selection ranges from international products to typical local products like tortillas; on the day of my visit, delicious small sandwiches with various fillings (goat cheese with onion jam, guacamole, etc.) were available, which I consumed in large quantities without any shame and with immense pleasure, washed down with a more than respectable sparkling wine.
Another strong point is its quietness : despite its size, the lounge manages to maintain a relaxed atmosphere, thanks to carefully designed acoustics and a staff that is always present but discreet. The level of cleanliness and maintenance is impeccable, with spaces constantly maintained, although the large number of users makes the task far from easy for the staff.
In terms of amenities , the Pau Casals Lounge doesn't disappoint: fast and stable Wi-Fi, plenty of electrical outlets, showers available to travelers, relaxation areas for those who want to unwind, and a selection of international newspapers and magazines. Check-in and access are also seamless, with no waiting or hassle.
Overall, the ViP Pau Casals Lounge in Barcelona is one of the best lounges I've ever visited: welcoming, functional, and offering top-notch cuisine. A place where the concept of "waiting" is turned on its head: time is no longer wasted, but gained.
