Among the independent lounges available in Europe, the Plaza Premium Lounge at Rome Fiumicino stands out for its ability to combine comfort, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere. It is not the largest nor the most luxurious lounge, yet it manages to deliver a well-rounded and balanced experience—ideal for those facing a long-haul flight or simply seeking a moment of peace amidst the crowded corridors of Terminal 3.

Well-prepared and varied food

The culinary offering is above average for a European airport lounge. A good selection of hot and cold dishes alternates throughout the day: traditional Italian pasta dishes, fresh salads, a variety of cheeses and cured meats, and simple yet well-executed desserts. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available, with a respectable list of Italian wines and a well-stocked bar. This is not fine dining, but rather a flavorful, fresh, and well-presented spread that easily outshines the sad sandwiches typically found in many mediocre lounges.

The décor is modern, understated, and elegant, with comfortable armchairs and a well-thought-out layout. The only drawback is that, being a single large open space rather than divided into smaller, more private rooms, the environment can feel rather chaotic and noisy.
